The Union wants to ensure that students have the best opportunity of pursuing activities that reflect their interests, because of this we support students who want to run their own societies to allow likeminded people to come together.
A society is a great way to meet new people. Currently we have a number of societies already up and running:
• Beatfiend (An entertainment based society- club/Open mic nights, coach trips, etc)
• Dance
• LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender)
• ACS (Afro-Caribbean)
• Chaos (History course based-trips)
• Music
• AHA (Agnostic, Humanists & Atheist)
• Musical Theatre
• Mack (Bognor regis campus bar)
• Gaming
• Pool
• RPG
• Hong Kong
• Break dancing
If there is not a society that interests you, then why not set up your own?
A society can be based around any activity (within reason!) as long as it benefits its members.
You can also gain a V-certificate (a volunteering accreditation) for being on a societies committee which can greatly improve your employability!
The Union can also support societies with funding, training, and facilities following an approval process.
