ALCOHOL AWARENESS WEEK 6th-12th Nov 2011
Giving the students the opportunity and the knowledge of ‘how much is too much?’ providing talks to the students for a week and giving them the understanding as to what they are drinking and the dangers of it.
RANDOM ACTS OF KINDNESS WEEK Date TBC
This week will involve those who are willing to take a little time to consider others, spreading kindness in any way they can all over the two campuses, whether that be by giving out free hugs, helping others in their lives in any way, shape or form, even if it’s just a friendly smile at a stranger.

Go Green Week is an annual student week of action on climate change. People &
Planet groups in schools, colleges and universities put together a week of campaigns/ Activities, events and fundraisers to raise awareness of the issue of climate change and to lobby their own institutions to Go Green.
25TH ANNIVERSARY: BLACK HISTORY MONTH OcT 2011
Celebrating all inspirational black people throughout history. Including an Equality and diversity week embracing all cultures, faiths, beliefs and diverse range of students at this university. Ending with a big black history month event embracing the music oof the black community
World Smile Day® 2011 "Do an act of kindness. Help one person smile"!
The first Friday in October each year is World Smile Day®. This year, on October 7th, is the thirteenth World Smile Day ®. The theme for the day is "Do an act of kindness. Help one person smile." And the image that leads the way on this day is the smiley face.
Acts of Kindness Needed (smiles will be provided).
To promote world smile day 2011, helpers from the SU will be circulating BOC on Friday 7th October with cameras to capture any willing volunteers (or otherwise!) happy to pose with a smiley face cut-out. Spontaneous acts of kindness also very welcome. Photos will be posted on the website. Prize for the most entertaining and original image!
