The club meets on Mondays in gym 2 at 6 - 9pm, people can come when they want for however long they want. We are open to all abilities so people can learn or practice their climbing and hang out with like-minded people! The more experienced climbers will happy to offer coaching advice to people who are new to the sport or feel they need it.
We will be running trips at weekends to other climbing centres, such as Calshot in Southampton (one the top ten in the UK). Also for those who are up for it we are hoping to enter the southern bouldering league and the BUSA bouldering championship in Sheffield. Around easter time next year we will be running a week long trip to go climbing in Fontainebleau Forest in France which is one of the worlds best bouldering locations and again open for all abilities, it will be an amazing week!
The fee is £20 to join the club for the year, this covers extra insurance needed, travel and other expenses for trips, and allows you to climb the wall on Monday undisturbed as we have the gym booked out for the club! People are welcome to try it out for a couple of weeks before paying, it is recommended that they look into buying a pair of climbing shoes.
We also want to run socials and often team up with the extreme sports club on a wednesday to run our socials, we have many crazy ideas and want to use these socials for everyone to get together and put our clubs officially on the uni map!
Thank you for your time,
Rob Hudson, president
